Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's tale combines football scholarship for his parents and a commitment in the local community. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of the nine children raised by Eufala with Lucious Selmon. He was also one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma on the field of football. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. The team also took home two national championships. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third time in 1975. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. Then he settled in Tampa after college, playing for the Buccaneers for nine years and made three times all-pro. His business career began. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's 10 outstanding young males. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He captained his college team in the year 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as the Associate Director of Sports. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor, who awarded this award.
