Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family when she was the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it at the age of 21. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she graduated. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice portal that offered an honest assessment of the current political situation. Her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna's fame started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential female media personality, taking the 12th place on the list and in the same year, the Guardian named her to the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media division in 2011 following the purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. While she enjoyed a strong connection to both of her parents and father, it was their relationship that helped shape her. As a child she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. In her 16th year, she travelled to England to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics. Her career as TV host and journalist started after her graduation. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own novels with his aid.
